The Tale of a Store I Love ... Wholesale-Dress.net Review

Hey!! This post is about a wonderful place. A place of cheap and adorable things. Yes. Both cheap and adorable. Nay, you say? Such a place could not exist?? Well I have found it ~~ in an Asian wholesale site.

If you've never experienced the odd and mysterious realm of Asian wholesale clothes and accessory websites, they are stores that mass produce trendy clothes. It's such a fun experience if you have an open mind and loove trendy clothes but don't necessarily want to spend a lot.

Shipping can be expensive because they a) ship from Hangzhou, China and b) charge by the gram. Right now it's $15 for the first 500 grams regardless of what you buy and then $5 per additional 500 grams. HOWEVER I had an order that came out to $90 for 9 items, or about $10 per items, which is STILL cheaper than, say a XXI purchase or H&m!! DON'T let the shipping scare you! They generally only make one size for each item, which is one reason they are so cheap. You really do get what you pay for.

THAT SAID, I love wholesale-dress.net. If you manage your expectations and are a smart consumer, you can get some amazing deals on some adorable clothes. My stuff shipped super fast, especially considering I expected it to take mooonths to get to USA. I cannot recommend the site enough!

The site is most notable for its style. Wholesale-dress.net regularly updates it's products to keep them current and reaaaally hot. So if you want to try out a style but don't want to drop like a thousand bucks (liiike me) SHOPE HERE! If you're curious, I have a video below that details my experience with the site.

Tutorial: Hipster Galaxy Print Shirt DIY!!

I love the galaxy print. I've been coveting Christopher Kane's galaxy print shirts, jackets, dresses....
Aaaah. I do love them. Alas, they are faaaar out of my price range. So I decided to DIY it. Obviously, I can't mimic everything, seeing as how that there is fabric and I can't exactly make that, but I was determined to get something galaxy printed into my wardrobe.

I decided to go ahead and just paint some galaxies onto things. I love my acrylic paints, and decided to try them out here instead of going nuts and buying a lot of fabric paint.
Ta-daaaa!!

Tutotial - Cropped Top with Scallop Trim DIY

I love cropped tops. They're comfy and boxy and flattering and adorable. And, thankfully, in fashion now so I can actually get them at cheap stores like H & M.

Buuuuuuuut........

Then it hit me then it hit me that they're like th easiest things to make. 4 seams, no fitting, but a box with sleeves. Thank the lawd. Soooo....
I made me a crop top!!

I love DIY stuff I actually wear. I always lose steam halfway or it doesn't look right and I quit, but this turned out perfect.

This is the basic shape. I just traced it from an H&M shirt I had that I liked on some awesome sheer gray leopard print fabric...

After you cut it just sew up the side and shoulder seams. Try it on, see if it drapes well. I added a few inches onto the bottom of my traced version cause I've got a belly to conceal :o

Time to break out the pinking shears!! I love scalloped edges, especially this zig zaig kind. It works well on this super sheer, thin fabric but also on fabrics that have more structure and build. Practice shaping the scallops on an extra piece of fabric, because if you're like me you'll be teeeeerrified of ruining it.

As you can see, mine are not perfect. They're diagonal-y in areas and strange but the effect is there. I didn't do any finishing on this shirt becuase it's kinda a practice piece and I wanted the seams pinked. Pink-ed shear-ed? I dunno. But If you're more into finished stuff, you can easily skip the scallops.

I cut around the hem, the sleeves and the neckline. It took like seven minutes.

And voila! A super easy but cute DIY. Play with the amount of drapy-ness you want and the size of the sleeves. I love prints for this kind of boxy top, and I plan on making maaaany more.

It's srsly hipster but sooo cute. Fun times!!
